We started out by estimating how many seeds were in two pumpkins. Nicole estimated 600 seeds and there were actually 924 seeds. Belinda estimated 1000 seeds, but she estimated for each pumpkin. Students learned what would be a good estimation for next time.
This was our second pumpkin. Students described what it felt like to feel the pumpkin pulp. They planted 7 seeds on moist cotton balls. They placed them in sealed baggies and chose a place in the room to watch them grow.
November 4, 2012...Four days later. Some of our seeds are beginning to change.
